Over 100 million viewers tune in each year to the PBR on NBC, OLN, and in Spanish on Telemondo.
With over 450 hours of prime time programming annually the PBR ranks among the most prolific sports on air, in addition to attracting over one million live event attendees each year, with its multi-tiered event structure which includes the marquee Built Ford Tough Series presented by Wrangler, the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company Challenger Tour, the Enterprise Tour, and the Humps and Horns Tour, designed specifically for entry level contestants. The PBR’s governing board of directors is comprised of reknowned bull riders who have developed the event into a stand alone sport which is experiencing unprecedented growth in global popularity.
The PBR is headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, and has over 600 atheletes competing in more than 100 PBR sanctioned competitions.
World Class Weddings had the good fortune to attend a PBR live event and see these amazing athletes perform, after the event was finished WCW spoke with some of the cowboys about marriage and family, here’s what they had to say:
What is the biggest challenge you face with balancing your career and personal life?
“Taking care of my family and children, our wives are incharge of everything and it’s tough when we are away on tour. The biggest challenge is riding bulls and maintaining a personal life.”
What do you think helped you become successful in your career?
“God, Faith and family. My faith in God has helped me greatly,my wife and family are very supportive and encourage me to go forward when I’m having a difficult time.”
Do you have a motto or creed that you live by?
“Yes, less is more! Ride bulls with the least amount of effort and have more of a private life to enjoy with my family. Seek first the Kingdom and His rightousness and all things shall be added to you.”
What advice do you have for newly married couples?
“Compromise!”
Editor’s Note: A special thank you to Tater Porter, Cory Rasech, Gerardo Venagas, and Jake McIntyre who took the time before the event to model in tuxedos for World Class Weddings, these champions were genuine, gracious and a whole lot of fun!
